Description

Curious about coding but not sure where to start? This friendly, hands-on introduction is designed for complete beginners who want to explore what coding is and whether it's something they would enjoy learning.  

What will I learn?
You'll discover how programmers think, learn how computers follow instructions, and take part in simple practical activities that demonstrate the logic behind coding, without needing any previous experience or technical knowledge. By the end of the session you'll have a clearer understanding of what coding involves and the skills programmers use every day, and the next steps if you'd like to continue your learning.

What will I need to take part?
You may also like to bring a notepad and pen if you wish to take notes.

This is a face-to-face course delivered in a friendly, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace.

This course can lead to further courses in coding such as Coding for Beginners.

Course eligibility and fees
This adult learning course is available to residents of Northamptonshire who are: - aged 19 or over on 31st August in the funding year - living in England, outside a devolved adult skills funding area. - ordinarily resident in England on the first day of learning. If you don't meet the above requirements, including some international students or people not ordinarily resident in the UK, you will not be able attend this course. Asylum seekers may be eligible to attend in some circumstances, including where they have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered, or where they receive certain types of local authority support.
